A roof replacement for a Southeast Raleigh homeowner: labor donated by Big Bear, materials by GAF.

Big Bear and Habitat for Humanity Greater Raleigh

In 2026, Big Bear Roofing & Exteriors donated the skilled labor and project management for a roof replacement on a Southeast Raleigh home through Habitat for Humanity Greater Raleigh’s Home Preservation program. GAF donated the roofing materials through its Community Matters initiative.

The home has been part of the homeowner’s family story since she was in ninth grade, and its roof was believed to have last been replaced in 1992. Habitat Greater Raleigh’s Home Preservation program helps homeowners take care of essential repairs that might otherwise be financially out of reach, so they can stay in the homes they love.

Habitat Greater Raleigh told the story on its blog on November 4, 2026: Preserving a Southeast Raleigh Home Through Community Partnership.

“We were honored to donate a new roof to Habitat for Humanity and support their mission of providing safe, affordable housing.”
